Soulmate, Myself:
Omega Point
The ability to sense true love, and one’s True Love, is a subset of a larger spiritual sentience. |

Elenchus. At times, I’m given to see something, perceive something, but… it’s really hard to explain… it’s…
Kairissi. A discontinuity?
E. Yes… a discontinuity... there's no prelude, no lead-up.
K. When we're “plugged into the right source,” the insights pop and sizzle, percolating upwards from the depths.
E. And it’s not possible to totally explain oneself - because, for one thing, they're not really from us. I’m reminded of Deng Ming Dao’s statement that if we follow the path of enlightenment, of self-cultivation, for a long time, we’ll inadvertently create a distance between ourselves and the world. And if we try to tell others what we’ve seen in our moments of revelation, no one will be able to understand what we’re talking about.
K. Can we talk about it in a general way?
E. Those insights, bubbling up from the deeper person, are like islands of precious understanding, in the midst of a roiled sea of egoic stresses and strains.
K. What did you see, Ellus?
E. I saw that a perception of true love, and also that of the identity of one’s Sacred Beloved, is but a subset or portion of a larger sentience that we receive from God.
K. Say more on this.
E. When we “attune” ourselves to the spirit of God, during our meditations…
K. ...during our time in the “small quiet room.”
E. When we do that, when we try to quiet our minds and “go within,” usually it seems like nothing good is happening. The mind led by the ego is like a wild horse at those times, desperately trying to maintain its control, and it’s very difficult to keep the mind focused.
K. Like that “desultory rider” the author spoke of.
E. The ego wants to jump from subject to subject, and often succeeds. After a session like this, it’s very tempting to say, “Well, that was a washout. I don’t feel any closer to God.” So many times I’ve said that. And yet – and here’s the strange part – there’s a whole lot going on, even if we can’t notice at the time. What happens is, whether we detect the change or not, we’ve become a little more sensitized to the energy and mind of God. And if we continue in our meditations this way, over the months and a few years, we will certainly be “attuning” ourselves to the spirit of God.
K. And tell everyone now what the practical effect of this becomes.
E. After a time, we will notice that, when a selfish or angry thought enters the mind, it will be like a foreign object coming up on our internal “radar screen.” It won’t feel right. In times past, we would have felt at home with it, but now, having attuned ourselves with the energy of God…
K. … by going within.
E. And now when anything untoward flashes across the newly sensitized energy field of one’s mind, we immediately sense the difference. Our intellect might not yet have figured it out, but the heart will immediately know something is wrong.
K. And this internal guidance system of the soul is what we’ll have to protect ourselves, as our source of right-and-wrong, even a million years from now.
E. This “internal warning system” just grows and grows in its ability to detect even a particle of word, thought, or action that is out of line with the mind of God.
K. This is really something, Ellus. I recall in the “Course In Miracles,” one of the lessons, entitled, “God goes with us wherever we go,” and this is how it happens.
E. In good measure, yes - it's how God teaches us, in a very direct manner.
K. And you feel that this process by which God aligns our minds with Source, is also in play in the sphere of true love.
E. It’s naturally at home there, too. And why wouldn’t it be, as Silver Birch has stated that authentic romantic love is part of the very essence of "the Great Spirit," as he uses the term.
K. I think we can see how this would work. Let me try to fill in some of the blanks now. John and Mary choose each other for lots of different reasons, and we need not list them again here; however, for the enlightened person thinking about marriage, he or she would meet various possible mates.
E. And some of them might have “perfect resumes.”
K. We’ve talked about this. For example, there’s a girl who, at the surface of life, appears to be your “100% check-all-the-boxes” perfect girl for you. She even likes you.
E. Who wouldn’t.
K. Uh-huh. But, in line with our discussion here, despite her “perfect resume” for you, when she enters the “energy field” of your mind, you immediately sense what you call “the emptiness.” You know that she doesn’t belong to you.
E. And this is exactly where John and Mary go wrong. They have no well-developed “internal radar” as yet to guide them into “what’s real” in the sphere of love and marriage. They want to enter marriage via the “bedroom door” but unless they enter through the door of the “small quiet room,” they have no hope of finding true love in this world; or the next, for that matter.
K. Elenchus, I’m seeing the subject of “creative discontinuities” more clearly. All of these insights which pop and sparkle our heads as we attune ourselves with God are really “creative discontinuities.”
E. They pop into existence when we need them most; usually, not a moment too soon or too late.
Editor's note: See the other-side channeled testimony of Sir John Pensley regarding the unveiling of previously-unseen reality coming to us as "tiny flashes" of light. I submit that Twin Souls, within their own domain of discovery of "what's real", might also experience this smallest incremental luminescent display in the form of what Elenchus calls "sparkles in the head." This should not seem strange as Twins, even as children, might become privy to the unfolding of "ultimate reality."
K. (sighing) I'm feeling the strength, much more, of Brother Joshua’s statement in Mark 11: “Embrace this God-life, really embrace it!”
E. I love that saying of his so much.
K. Ellus, we need to sign off here, but maybe you could say a word more about not finding love even in the next world. Let’s not leave people worried.
E. There’s nothing to worry about with this. Attuning oneself to God’s energy will solve the problem. However, I think the confusion might arise when people envision crossing over to Summerland as something like a trip to Disneyworld.
K. But, it is sort of like a trip to Disneyworld, as there’s whatever you want over there – from white sandy beaches, to concert halls, libraries, universities, lakes and water sports, every sort of animal and all tame, farms, you name it.
E. That’s all true, but – think about this. What if you were required to go to Disneyworld for many days in a row?
K. (silence)
E. The first day would be very exciting – all those rides, and cotton candy, and exhibits.
K. (smiling)
E. The second day would be pretty good, too, but not as great as the first day. On the third day, the novelty of it all is beginning to wear thin.
K. And even I have to admit that I’m getting a little sick with too much cotton candy.
E. And by the fourth day, you’re looking for excuses not to go. The problem is, nothing material, not even material things in Summerland, can satisfy the soul. We discussed this at length in the article, “500 tape-recorded messages from the other side.” There are lots of people over there who’ve not entered Summerland by way of the “small quiet room,” and they’re drifting into various forms of incoherence.
K. It's strange, isn't it? - a "materialistic heaven"! Most people would never dream that this could even be possible. Little wonder then that this dysfunctional group doesn’t even believe in eternal romance.
E. They don’t believe in it because, in their egoic state, everything they touch turns into a jaded and unsatisfactory materialism.
K. People need to understand that, as great as Summerland is, there's no magic there. Just because you begin to live in a perfect environment doesn't mean that the requirements of the soul can be ignored.
E. I like what one Spirit Guide had to say about this: "We take heaven with us wherever we go. It's begins right here on the Earth." If we're materialistic in our thinking, then pleasant surroundings won't really help us.
K. And Ellus, we should say, too, that just because you might live in Summerland doesn't mean that you'll be able to quickly find your eternal mate. If you're immature, if your mind is run by the ego, then your "radar" will be well offline, and you won't be able to know who he is.
E. I think we're the posterkids for that last past.
Elenchus. Our talk about “internal radar” reminds me of something during those long years when we were apart.
Kairissi. (silence)
E. Sometimes I would chide myself with, “How do you really know you have this bond with her? Maybe you’ve just dreamed this up. After all, what real indication exists? You never had one date with her, not one kiss. What evidence do you have that there’s anything real between you two?”
K. (softly) And how did you answer yourself in this interrogation?
E. Well… not with anything that would be so convincing to a third-party reviewer.
K. But you don’t have to convince anyone else, only yourself.
E. What I saw was… for almost 30 years I’d had a kind of “sixth sense” about you, and about us. It never goes away. Even when I’m angry with you in my thoughts, I know you’re still there. And it didn’t begin as starry-eyed infatuation, your image wasn’t something that I craved; but, instead, I was jarred into a “knowing” about you, even while trying to be rid of you in my head.
K. (silence)
E. And then in occurred to me, “If I’m wrong about her, with all of the internal-radar messaging, for nearly 30 years, then – I would have to throw out, as gross error, all of that intuitive evidence gathered over much of my life."
K. But… sometimes people are wrong… and have been wrong for a long time.
E. I know, but… at the end of my self-evaluation, I just wasn’t buying it… The internal messaging had been so strong, for so long, even when I didn’t want to love you… that, I couldn’t accept that all this amounted to bunk for 30 years.
K. (silence)
E. Because, if this were true, how could I ever trust the “silent whisperings of the soul” again? How could I ever find God, or goodness and truth? How could I ever regain myself, find guidance for my life? How could I make my way in Summerland without these “eyes of the soul”? No, it just made no sense to me. I could not deny all that I’d been given concerning you over such a long time.
K. (softly) In the end, the final proof that one has “found God” or "truth" or "certainty" or “God’s energies within” is a subjective test, and the scientific method won't help us. It’s not meant to convince anyone else. Each must seek for his or her own dispositive conclusion of the matter in a personalized way.
